Convert DA POINTS to REAL MONEY - Tutorial by ms-villeroy Convert DA POINTS to REAL MONEY - Tutorial by ms-villeroy

Apparently this is kind of an issue here on DA, so here's a short tutorial on how to convert DA Points into real money. <3

If you use this feature you should make sure use the 100p = 1$ system when selling your stuff (adoptables, commissions, etc.) because otherwise you lose quite some money (you do so by using points as a currency in the first place).

I hope this helps!

Feel free to ask questions and distribute this tutorial in any way you like. <3

FAQ

:bulletred: (!!) Can I convert my existing points (which are not shown in my 'Earnings' site) to money?
Technically, you can. But DA has a strict rule against that so if you do this it might get you banned from DA. I personally wouldn't do it.

:bulletred: (!!) Can I convert my existing points (which are not shown in my 'Earnings' site) to money by giving them to a friend and asking them to purchase my stuff (so it goes to my 'Earnings)?
The clever type are we? Yes, technically you can. But still, it might get you both banned from DA. I personally wouldn't do it.

Oh ok the only way you'll be able to do this is if you have a Paypal account? No other options yes? Thanks a lot btw, for this!

|sub>Yes, you'll need Paypal. I don't think they have other options yet. But a Paypal account is free and pretty easy to set up. It makes your life easier if you don't have a credit card (or don't feel comfortable using it online).

I see, I'm looking to set up a pay pal account (like in my journal) but i've heard some things about pay pal can freeze your account w.e they think you violate or have too much money in your account and all. If you can and willing please let me know, I'm looking to do commissions this year. Thanks!

Apparently not, you can also do this with a non-premium account. Just try it :) It's pretty easy!

¡Claro!

Hazle click a Retirar por PayPal ("Withdraw by PayPal").

Do you know if it's very worth it to get a premium membership? I understand I shouldn't do some funky stuff to change points to earnings, but should I get stuff that will go into earnings or just points for the future? I don't have a paypal, and probably won't be able to get one for a few YEARS, so should I get the premium or save up until it's worth it?

If you plan to sell stuff and make your site look all pretty, then yes, it's worth it. If not, then you don't really need it, I guess. :)

Idk why, but how do you add your paypal account with dA? I mean, for some reason, I couldn't withdrawn my earnings to my payapl. Is the paypal email the same email that I applied for the account in the first place?

Why can't we "legally" convert points that were donated or gifted to us? o:

because, apparently, that's how things are on DA right now. if you're really interested in this, i encourage you to google it but this tutorial is about how to convert points legally.

Iīve made everything it says in here and I just canīt click the green button because it says that I have to increase my available balance (itīs currently 0), I really donīt understand that, if Iīve received the points by this method what do I do with the available balance here?

if your available balance is zero, there's no money you can withdraw. feel free to send me screenshots of how you did it.

you need to sell stuff to do that. Your available balance is the "money" (points) you can turn to cash.

Question about the premium contenent: the user who receive the points can't see who sent them, but what about the commissioner? Can it see its own transaction on the transaction history? If so, it could take a screenshot to demonstrate he payed for that.

They can take a picture of the button afterwards - it'll say "Purchased" next to the deviation after they payed for it.

I don't have Paypal, cause I hear they charge for transfers, I'm not sure myself lol.

but, Can I withdraw by check?  I know they Charge  $5.00  for processing fee. Besides the $5.00r fee, do they charge more?  or it's $ 5.00 that the only charge at all?

does Deviantart charges a fee for selling art in download content way?

Thank you for reading.

yes, there is a minimum amount of points you've got to have on it (5$ I think)  to be able to convert it but you can convert all at once, even it it's a bigger sum.

Using the point system does in so general - that's why it's best to use PayPal directly.
But as far as I know the commission widget itself takes away 20 percent.
